Who are you, and what do you do?
I'm Manolo González, a freelance web and software developer. I build websites, tailored software and system integrations for founders, growing businesses and product teams, and you work directly with me from the first call to launch and after.
What do you build?
I build three things: websites, web apps and dashboards (web development); internal tools, client portals and products built around how your team works (tailored software); and APIs, webhooks, data sync and automations that connect the tools you already use (system integration).
Who is this a good fit for, and who is it not for?
I'm a good fit for founders who need a first version built, businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets and disconnected tools, and product teams that want senior help without hiring. I'm not the right fit for projects that need a large team working in parallel, and I'll tell you so instead of taking them on.
What are the ways to hire you?
You can hire me in four ways: MVP development (fixed scope, agreed in writing before I start), a scoped project (fixed price per agreed scope), hourly consulting (billed by the hour, only for time used) and a monthly retainer (a reserved block of my time each month). If you are not sure which fits, choose "Not sure yet" on the quote form and we will work it out together.
Should I request a quote or schedule a call?
Request a quote if you'd rather write, and schedule a call if you'd rather talk. With a quote request you describe the project in a short form and I reply personally by email with questions and next steps, usually before any numbers. With a call you pick days and hours between Monday and Saturday, 9:00 to 17:00, and I confirm a time by email for a Google Meet video call or a phone call. Either way there is no pitch and no obligation.
What does your process look like?
Every project follows five steps: conversation, scope, build, review and launch. We talk through what you need, you get a written scope covering what is in, what is out, timing and billing, I build in small steps and show you working software regularly, we review and test together, and then I launch and hand everything over.
How do you price your work?
I don't publish fixed rates, because the price depends on the project and how we work together. For an MVP or a scoped project, we agree the scope and how it is billed before I start. Hourly consulting is billed only for the time used, and a retainer reserves a block of my time each month. I give numbers once I understand your project.
How long does an MVP take?
An MVP's timeline depends on how much the first version needs to do. I start by scoping the smallest version worth launching, and I give you a realistic timeline once I understand the project.
What do I get at handover?
You get the finished work plus what you need to run it. For web development, that is the live site or app, the code repository and a handover call. For tailored software, working software, clean code and written documentation. For system integration, documented, monitored connections you can hand to anyone. At launch I also hand over the access you need.
What happens after launch?
I hand over everything you need and stay reachable afterwards. If you want ongoing development and maintenance, the monthly retainer reserves a block of my time each month for that.
Can you work on an existing codebase?
Whether I can take on an existing codebase depends on the code itself, so send me the details through the quote form and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right person to take it on. Hourly consulting also covers code reviews and second opinions on existing code.
Do you work with other people or a team?
You work directly with me, one developer, from the first call to launch.
Can I contact you in Spanish?
Yes. The whole site, including the quote and call request forms, is available in English and Spanish, and I read and reply to every request myself.
